Things I love thursday

The Washington Nationals — I know that they aren't the best team, but they're my team, and the first "real" baseball game I ever saw was with them.

Ice Cream — I can't help but love the guilty pleasure. I had ice cream yesterday at the baseball game that I went to...and it was delicious. I ate it up so quickly that I left fudge smeared all over my lips...worth every bit though.

Soft Sheets — My blankets are warm and inviting. I slipped into them last night and I don't think my head hit to the pillow before I passed out.

Cool mornings — It's getting very hot here since summer is on its way, but I love cool, misty mornings. It's not sweltering hot, but its not cold anymore.

Birds Chirping — I know lots of people hate the birds in the morning, but I actually don't mind them. They make me happy to listen to them, and prepare me for my day.

Red Cardinals — I woke up this morning, got dressed, and walked out to go to work...and I saw this bright red cardinal on a branch. It's the first one I've seen in the area this spring. It was also the first thing that I saw stepping out of my building, and it just made me smile. I've always loved cardinals.

Thinking the best of people — I like to think the best of the people around me. Or at least I try to. I know it's a bit naive...but sometimes, it's good to give someone a second look.

People that support — They will always find a way to tell me when I'm slacking off, or overreacting in just the right way for me to hear it. <3>

a certain young — "snotty", dark and deliciously intelligent gentleman that makes me laugh and feel better. Even when I don't deserve it.

Paper cranes — I knew how to do them perfectly ages ago, and then forgot...so I had to relearn it. I plan on doing something with them later...you'll see.

Things I love Thursday

C'est jeudi, vous devrait être heureux ! Translation: It's Thursday, you should be happy! I am at least. I'm hoping I'll be able to spread this infectious joy to you. I woke up this morning with a strange feeling. I felt extremely restless (I actually still do feel really restless), but happy at the same time. Things are changing, I can sense it...though I have no idea what it will be.

Anywho....shall we begin?

The "no complaints" experiment- I heard about this through a friend of mine. I'm trying really really hard to give it a shot. The aim is to go 21 days without complaining (though you're allowed to complain if you then follow up with a solution of some kind). Whenever you complain you give yourself a physical change, so that you are aware of it. In my case, I'm using a bracelet. I'm going to switch the bracelet from one wrist to the the other whenever I hear myself having a moan. My goal is to keep the bracelet on one wrist for the whole 21 days.

Freedom- We are all free to be whoever we want. If you want to be a walking contradiction, a whirlwind, a mind bending Sphinx-like riddle, someone who is happy with themselves and doesn't answer to anyone else, you can be! Let criticism roll off your back. No one is stopping you but yourself.

Icing- I love icing on stuff: cupcakes, cakes, cookies, gingerbread houses. I love how you can manipulate it into anything. It is the combination of sugary-artsy-goodness.

Cookies- Especially Macaroons. Yummy!

Random notes- I like reading random things that I find on the floor or on the street. I know that a hygienist would call me insane for touching something that has been left on the dirty streets of DC, but it's interesting to see what you find and to make up stories behind it.

Balloons!- yes they make my happy. Sometimes I get the inexplicable urge to pounce on them.

Dreams- I had a dream last night that someone I really cared about told me that he didn't want to see me anymore. I asked him why and he said that I caused him too much pain and that he was tired of trying to deal with it. That dream hurt so much, but when I woke up I realized that I had to show people I appreciated them, and that...if I was hurting them, then I was sorry. I generally have better dreams than that, and most people would ask why I loved that dream. The honest answer I don't love the dream itself, but rather the message. It reminded me that I have to keep relationships clear of clutter, for both my own emotional well being and theirs.

Having lots to do- I don't like being busy for the sake of it, since I think that usually happens because we're fearful of being alone or feeling like we have no direction. But I love having lots of projects on the go, piles of juicy stimulation and exciting people around me. I have a head full of ideas and starry-eyed vision right now I know. I have so much to do this week, but I am totally amped about all of it!

Tree houses- I just like 'em. I have a vision of an apartment in a big city with a rooftop garden, lush and verdant...and a tree house in the corner. It will require a secret password for access.

Honourable mentions- chocolate for breakfast. Coco Chanel -she really had a lot of character. Betty page-my fascination still continues. Blue hair-oh how I wish. The gym-I know it's a real pain in the ass for me to get up, but I am trying to do the best for my body. Friends and family- The are support stones and help me to remain somewhat sane. Poetry-I've been reading a lot of poetry lately. It's been very therapeutic, and enlightening. EFT- I find that it works for a lot of things, and keeping on it really helps. My job- I love my job, hate the work. :) My office plant- is the pride of my office at the moment. It's very vibrant and alive. I'm trying to follow it's example.

Has Thursday already come so quickly? This week has been fairly chaotic on the work front. Very very busy, and I have been running around doing everything I can to keep up. But I will make it up to you all next week. I would like to thank you guys for your comments and wanted to explain my comments section. Because I want this page to load up smoothly, I have refrained from posting everyone's comments. It's not that I don't appreciate them, and I read all of them. The reason I posted two comments the other day, was because I wanted to test something. So let me repeat, because I don't post them doesn't mean that I don't read them; I don't favor one reader from the other I promise. So now, onward to Thursdays!

bands, singers, DJ's...and just musicians in general. As most of you know, I am a music junkie. I chase new music and am willing to listen to anything. I was going through my massive storage of music and I realized, that I adore musicians. They make music, which I add to the soundtrack of my life. I have so much, and I don't think I nearly have enough. Give me more!

Food. "D: I do not eat soup for breakfast. G: I eat soup everyday, because I remember when I had no soup". I've been thinking about how incredibly lucky I am to have enough money to enjoy the food that I eat. I love food, and I think it comes from the very Latin side of me that you express so much through food. If you love someone, you want to make something for them. Because metaphorically speaking, you want to nourish them...what's the most basic? Give them food of course!

People who love me. Yes, I love people who love me. Because no matter how much I fight them, or no matter how I change, they will always love me.

Learning. I'm not the world's center for knowledge. I wish I was, but I'm not. So I'm always out to learn more and more about the world. There are some subjects that I know more about; but some that I don't know anything really. One of those is math...I think I'm going to look through my old math books and see if I can't relearn some of the things that I've forgotten.

Spoofs. Things like SNL (Saturday Night Live) make me laugh. Yes, some of the things I don't agree with, but laughing takes a lot of stress away from the day.

Washington D.C: I love this city. Yes it doesn't have the reigning nightlife and highprofile-ness of New York, nor does it have the eccentricities of San Fransisco. It doesn't have as much history as say Paris, or an international business-house like London. But I love it. It will only grow more, and there is so much room for potential. Plus, it's a politics town, and I like learning the "politics" of Washington d.c. Also, I have my vices...and one of them is pride...I love being able to grumble to myself in the metro, when I'm bogged down by tourists, "Move people, We have a country to run".

Skating in the park:
The Other day I had a wonderful skate date. Even though it started to rain, it was fantastic.

Nuevo Music:

I've been listening to a whole bunch of different remixes and artists. I just heard a remix of one of my favourite bands' song: "I think I'm paranoid" by Dj Rockie, and it's pretty good. If you can find it listen to it. Um...also the Benni Benassi remix of "never win" is amazing. It gets really good about 2 minutes in.

Easter Eggs:
I just decorated a whole bunch of easter eggs. I know that I'm a week behind, but I really like decorating eggs, and I didn't have time during the easter week.

Brushing things off:
When someone says something that they don't realize is insulting me, I love being able to just brush them off.

Patient people:
My friends and my family are so patient with me. I'm a little bit wacky, and there are times where my moods are so off key from everyone else's that when combined with my own obstinacy, I become almost intolerable. But I love how those who know me and love me are able to still put up with me.

Van Gough's painting "Boots":
that's probably not the title, which at the moment is slipping from my mind. But I love how even in a color copy, on a flat surface...you can still see the strong brush strokes. I wish I had that skill.

BBC Radio:
It keeps me occupied and I love listening to the news on the radio while I work. Sure it doesn't always have ALL the news, but it's at least something.

My computer:
I don't know how the damn thing hasn't just exploded. But it's doing a good job for me.

My office:
I know I'm extraordinarily lucky to have an office all to myself. Especially an office with *gasp* a door! I generally shut the door and do stretches or just gather piece of mind when I want to be left alone. Plus it's great to keep people from coming in that want to "chat". It's not that I don't like talking to them, it's just that I have a lot of work to do.

The free water that the office has:
I know this is going to sound so geeky, and almost cheap. But I love getting the free water. I don't trust the water in my apartment for drinking because I've noticed that I get nauseous when I drink too much water from my tap (despite the fact that I was reassured the water was safe). So I like to fill up my water bottles at the office here.

The extended Sun hours:
The equinox has passed and now the sun stays in the sky longer than the moon at night (equinox is when the day is split equally, 12 hrs of sunlight, 12 hrs of night). But now that the sun comes up earlier and stays out longer I can open my blinds and let in the light.

BimBimBop Lunch:
I don't know what it means, but it's a plate of various vegetables with miso soup and rice. It's delicious, and really filling. I save two days of lunch with just one purchase. Whoo!

Hot chocolate:
It's so delicious, and even though the heat is starting to push up. I don't think I'll give it up. I get cold easily in my office.

My new Book "I Pierre Riviere having slaughtered my mother, my sister, and my brother". It's fascinating to be honest, all about how criminal law is applied today because of actions in cases like this one, which took place in the 19th century. I highly recommend it.

My coworker recently stuck his neck out for me, and I was very thankful and happy. He didn't need to do that, he just did it to be nice.

My little office plant is growing and is getting bigger.

People who taught me how to appreciate art, and the various styles out there. I don't like some things, but I can at least appreciate them.

My sister, who just seems to understand me without having to make it awkward.

Silk, the soy milk product. Soy milk does taste kinda "off" but it's not that bad if you add chocolate shakes to it.

The ability to relax in most places without loosing my mind.

Music. I've been searching for new music because I love having music to match whatever mood I'm in. Plus you can never have too much.

My "Avon" black cherry shower gel. It comes in a container that looks like a jam pot. AND not only does it smell like delicious cherries on a summer afternoon, but the gel itself has a texture to it, that is like JELLO! I love that! When I was little I used to dream in swimming of pools full of JELLO. This in a sense fulfills that.

Organizing my agenda- yes I am a geek.

Making plans for the weekend. I plan to do something interesting and fun. If not for my benefit, for yours as well. So we can swap stories later.

Thursdays: Its a chance for me to look back at what I have and be really really happy about it.

Equinox: Today is equinox, and its a start for new beginnings. They say that this is one of the few days that will dictate what you do for the rest of the year. Now, I take more of the approach that everyday you can change something, but sometimes it's nice to think you don't have to start everything new on "New Year's".

My black book: I'm always the sketchy looking person on the metro scribbling away in a notebook.

EFT: It's called tapping and I know it sounds crazy, but seriously it heps me. It's kinda like my mantra

My job: I know I'm incredibly grumpy, and I don't "bond" easily with people (despite the fact that I may like them just fine) ...but I'm happy with the people (for the most part) that I work with.

My little palm plant: I have no idea how this thing hasn't died yet. But he's still alive. In fact he's growing and I may need to transfer him to another "pot". That will probably be some monstrosity that I create from the plastic water cups that we have in the office.

My alcoholic image: There's a liquor store right beside my building, and sometimes i go in to get a bottle of wine before I go home and cook dinner. So it constantly looks like I have a private stash in my office. I'm sure it doesn't help either that the glasses I won for Christmas in the office sweepstakes are STILL in my office.

My charlie brown boss: He's awesome. And yes he looks like charlie brown. To an extent he even dresses like him. He almost always is wearing a sweater, jeans and a pair of nice round toed sneakers. He also has no hair. Sometimes he perfects this image by wearing this particular brown sweater that he has with an orange squiggle line in the middle, JUST like the cartoons!

Running into friends at a job fair: the other day I was the representative for my company at my college's job fair. It was interesting to be on the other side of the table. I ran into a lot of old friends, and seemed like quite the pop-star to my coworker.

Things I love:

Bus drivers that keep the door open for you when you’re running to catch up with them.

The way my niece says “gracias”

The patience that my mother has with all of her children. She truly is quite extraordinary. I have no idea how’s she’s able to do it.

My bed. I haven’t been sleeping well lately, because all of my friends have been keeping me awake. But every time I curl into bed…I’m wrapped with comfort. I love my bed.

Hot chocolate: When, like me, you’re feeling just horrible, hot chocolate really helps out.

Ninagawa Mika: My new favorite photographer. Super high saturation, sexy girls and lots of joy! It’s a hard combination to beat!

Pictures of little buds and flowers: I love it. They are so sweet. They also remind me of spring, which is fast approaching.

Puddle reflections: They are so reminiscent of a parallel universe. I like to imagine that when I peek into one, my other me in that other universe is peeking back.

Sparklers: They are truly magical. I can’t wait till I can actually light mine!

Comments: I love the comments that people have been leaving me.

Agyness Deryn: She’s the latest “it” girl on the model front, and I do admit she’s really pretty. But the cult of Agyness Deryn is beginning to spread and I must say that’s it’s a little scary. She now has her own mannequin, which stores like Zara and Benetton are buying and putting up to model in the windows. To me, that’s a little creepy, but she is pretty.

My black shoes: In case you haven’t noticed…I love shoes. Today I especially love my black ones. They are very Bettie page and I like that.

My new book: Genghis Khan: For a lot of people, this book would be really boring…but I adore it. I used to live in the area where the Mongoloid tribes are from, so I can easily understand the layout, and I think that’s what makes it easier for me. Plus learning about such an amazing man is fascinating. I’ll give you guys a review after I’m done with the book.

Family sayings: some members in my family are kinda nutty. But always with madness goes some form of wisdom. Today’s “OM” saying: “Sure you can always find prettier, handsomer, skinnier, wiser, richer, younger or zippier. But more often than not, one might learn the most, laugh the loudest, and smile the widest with those they’ve already found, especially when you stop looking elsewhere”.

Sharpies: Do you know how much you can do with these markers? If you get the detail point you can play around with sketches since the marker does not mark any darker or any lighter no matter how hard you press. This is a great way to express shadows through patterns. I’ll show you mine as soon as I can get a scanner

Easter Eggs: I love Easter eggs…and I know that Easter isn’t yet for another month…but I am sooo excited. I will probably spend a good fortune on eggs, but I intend to boil them so that people can eat them if they like later. Some I may blow out to make as ornaments, but there are just SO many options…I really am truly excited about the creative possibilities of eggs.

New Running shoes: They do make a difference in the way that you run I’ve noticed. That unfortunately often comes with the new blisters that you get too.

Temporary Tattoos: They remind me of when I was a little girl and would stick the ones that I liked on random parts of my body, and ones I didn’t like on other people.

Post its: I’ve raved about them in the past, but tell me if these are not one of the most useful things in the office that a person has?

Surprise money: like finding five dollars in your pocket!

Things I love Thursday!

Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana: I love this opera…though it’s really not so much an opera as simply an acid trip. I was introduced to it by my English professor way back in the day when we were reading Paradise Lost. I loved it, and I still listen to it.

Hot Green Tea: I’ve always been a tea addict. Today I’m drinking a blueberry green tea. Which at first seemed like a bad combination, but it’s actually pretty good.

My running shoes: I don’t know how I make them last as long as I do, but man, do I love them. They make me feel happy just putting them on, like I have a purpose and that purpose is to move.

Peacock Feathers: I absolutely adore the colors in those feathers. They just make me so happy. I wish I had the ability to paint them exactly as they are. But I’m convinced that this is one of those things that no matter how amazing you are, you can never fully grasp the real thing.

My yoga mat: Yes, I have a yoga mat. Not that I use it that often, but I keep looking at it and it keeps reminding me to do things that are good for me.

Taking a nap right before I go to work: I generally wake up really early and get ready for the day. But, just before I change into my clothes, I slip back into bed to relax for ten minutes. I love that time, and if I’m lucky I have one of those “quickie” dreams and wake up feeling even more energized.

My mother: she’s in town and she just made my favorite dessert.

Clocks: I just always think about how much it took to make just one of those, and how it’s probably the first machine we’ve had (sun dial). Though don’t quote me on that, because I haven’t done any research on that yet.

Jingle bells: when they’re not being banged to death or sung about in songs during a particular season, they can be really quite charming.

Warm snowfalls: I love those snowfalls that lack biting winds, they make the snow fall down slower and it’s somewhat tolerable to stand outside and watch as the flakes fall.

1. The collection of neon colored plastic cups that I keep meaning to recycle but always put off “until tomorrow”.

3. Cupcakes: god I’ve been having a craving to make them. Not so much eat them as make.

Valentine's Day on Thrusday

Well today is Thursday and it’s also Valentine’s day, so I decided it’d be nice to honor both people that I love, and also valentine’s day. Now, those that know me know that I’m not particularly sentimental about Valentine’s Day. Yes, it’s not necessarily a real holiday, but think about it. We have so many varying responsibilities in our lives, ranging from work obligations to caring for children to running a household; we feel we cannot possibly make it all work. We may feel overwhelmed in the face of it all and never have time to stop. This leads to my point that sometimes, you need a day to sit back and look at all that you have. Now this can be any day really, it doesn’t have to be Valentine’s Day, but it helps that there’s a date that everyone takes as a day of love. Many of you will say that it’s just a holiday made my companies to make you buy chocolate and flowers. I have two answers to you, a. you don’t HAVE to buy into the regular chocolate and flowers; you could do something else creative…and b. who cares?

Anyway, this is not a social commentary on the validity of Valentine’s Day, rather this is a post about things I love, and I just happen to love the photo valentines that I’ve received today. You know who you are, and I’m sorry if I couldn’t post ALL of yours. My computer is not the strongest, and forcing it to morph all those photos and save that gigantic file…would destroy it. I love you all though, and they are all going into the black book!

Crayola: I love colors (if you haven’t noticed already will all my posts), and anyone that knows me knows that I am kinda doodelish- I like to doodle around on paper with various pens. Crayola has made that possible by offering me something that I remember from my childhood, and can still use in the cheapest of sense for the silliest things.

Vanity: I don’t love vanity, but I do love it when a friend of mine feels absolutely confident in themselves and sends me a picture of their “new” and “improved” body. Especially when it comes with a short poem. Thank you very much! I heart you too!

Shoes: friends and family know that I have an obsession with shoes. And I received two valentines today from people giving me “what I’ve always wanted”. A girl can never have enough shoes.

Glow lights: have you ever played pool bumpers? It’s pretty silly but you get on anything inflatable in pool and just ram into each other, trying to knock the other one into the water. I used to play it a lot with my brother when we were little, and then with my friends…when I wasn’t so little. A picture of a few of glowing ones on a pool at night is a friendly reminder. Tres bon!

Bright colors and visual effects: rainbows in water, this is just an awesome picture valentine. No real theme or memory behind it, but I love the colors.

Friendly Photoshoped photos: When you can’t afford to send flowers, and aren’t there to give them to the person, what better way than to take a picture and morph it with a heart?

Diamonds: are a girl's best friend! J

Chocolate hearts in snow: To remember that even in the coldest day, the heart is always there

Animal love (NOT THAT KIND!): It’s good to share your love with your walking hamburger (sorry I just couldn’t help it!).

Sweethearts: chocolate…mmmmmm….and it’s torture that I can’t have those at a party tonight.

Red lilies: homegrown and home-decorated flowers are charming. You can’t really see it in this picture but the lily is red.

Seals Kissing: I couldn’t help it! I was kissed a long time ago by a seal in SeaWorld, and it felt like I was being licked by a bristle brush. I loved it, and there are fond memories.

Things I love thursday

Cherries: I don’t know why they make me so happy to look at. They are delicious

Genetics: Yes I don’t like squirrels, but I like genetic anomalies. The entire human race is a rush in evolution thanks to someone’s faulty DNA. This is just an example…an albino squirrel.

The moon: The moon makes me happy. It’s calming and influences everything in our world, in some form or another. I especially love bright moons that reflect some color, be it an intense silver, red or orange.

Dandelions: Did you know that all the dandelions in the United States are all genetic clones of each other? Meaning some dandelion in ages past came over to the “new world” and populated the entire ground with genetic photocopies of itself. I think that’s pretty cool. I don’t wish I could do it because I honestly don’t think that there’d be many people out there willing to put up with thousands of me, but still…fascinating.

Ladybugs: you can make wishes on them, and they are also like mini-godzillas to the aphids that they eat. They’re actually pretty vicious to their prey…so unlike their name.
Clouds that look like stuff: this one was taken when one looked JUST like a heart….perfect for the love day coming up.

Food: I like food, and this model is an example of why I like food. I don’t think you can see the picture very well, but I was originally drawn to it because of the colors. Then I started actually looking at her and felt pretty sick. If you look at her ankles…I swear you’re looking at a skeleton. It’s really really gross. Hence this picture reminds me why I love food

Naked Samba dancers: They’re not entirely naked, but man…do they have bodies. I love Samba and Carnival time. The music is great, people are having fun and it’s one big party before the start of a religious time period. The women are gorgeous too.

Bright colors in the ocean: whenever I go snorkeling, I’m always afraid of A. Sharks or B. getting stung/pricked/bitten. Anyway, despite those fears I love the colors that you see in the ocean. Take for example this picture. It just makes me happy to see a fish not being eaten

Mardi Gras Beads: They’re so gaudy, but so much fun. They are a form of reward, and the more you have I guess the more you can be proud of. The tradition actually started with courtesans and their patrons. It was customary to give your “sin” something before “giving it up”. Women were showered with presents for the nightly favors that they provided for men. Not a bad idea

Thunderstorms: there were a couple last night. They were so far away that the thunder didn’t sound at all, but I saw the lightning and it made me happy. It means that warmer days are coming, and that always makes me feel better. Sometimes winter makes me feel, ironically, like I’m in hibernation

Coca Butter: The stuff feels really good. Especially when you’re feeling as tired and as sleep as I am today.

My dog: I’m trying to convince my parents to send her back here.

Books: I haven’t been reading lately, because I’m so caught up most of the time in work. So I’m going to make a vow that since I love books so much, I should back to them. The next book is WWZ

The play agronautika: I know that I mentioned it on the weekend review, but the more I think of it, the more I really really like it. I can’t get some of the lines out of my head, and I keep playing mental repeat on some of the stage props or costumes.

My ipod: yes this was on my list last week too, but I really do.

Energy drinks: boy…sometimes I need them.

Things I love Thursday!

Abstract pictures: I’m a real fan of Dali, so I love pictures that seem surreal and fantastic. This picture was taken by two twins in a black room. Clearly they edited out the box that she was standing on, but it’s still kinda fun. It makes the “flying” girl seem weightless

Birds: I don’t know why I like birds so much. Maybe it’s because a lot of them are characters. They are fun to watch. This action shot was taken at the beach with a bird snipping at a chip.

Pie: I love pie. Enough said

Rainbows: I love it when you get light coming in from the window and it shines through something crystal in your house. This is a picture of a beam from my dinning room that we had back in the day at Ridge Road. I love the colors.

Altered Signs: I am still having my love affair with altered signs. Though this one is not necessarily altered, it’s just kinda funny. I don’t think you can really see it, but one sign (on the right) says: State Hwy 46 can be tolled without a public vote! Demand a vote! High cost of water, high taxes, loss of rights, invasive regulations! The sign right next to it says: Jesus is the Reason

Chocolate Labs: I miss my dog so much. She’s fat, grumpy, addicted to crack and has the worst dog breath…but I love her.

The look of “jewel lips”: This is the newest fad apparently. I can’t afford it, but it’d be pretty cool to do this for a party or something. Jewel lips. You can have gems temporarily glued to your skin and feel like you’re always worth a thousand dollars. This isn’t the first time that they’ve incorporated jewels into the makeup/fashion world. Madonna, for a while, had diamonds glued to her eyes as permanent sparkly eyeliner. I don’t know if she still has them, but it was worth 10,000 or something. Extravagance.

Raindrops on lilies: They look like small little pearls on the lily leaf.

Striking ethnic photos: I was looking through a couple of things about Afghanistan and I saw this picture. This reminds me a lot of the famous national geographic picture titled "girl", also taken in Afganistan. I love the eyes; how they contrast against everything in the picture. Truly beautiful…even if the photographer stole the idea from another.

My bed: I cannot tell you how I adore my bed. It’s warm, comfortable and frankly provides almost everything for me.

My ipod: yes they are not the best Mp3 players, nor are they the most flashy…but I like my little old-school ghetto nano (ask ghetto as an Ipod can be). It was one of the best presents I have ever recieved

Bright sunrises: some people like sunsets, some like sunrises. I like both, but I love the cold brightness of the dawn. It’s not as colorful, but it’s the herald of a new day. Remember tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it.

Origami boxes: I’ve made an entire mountain of them already…I don’t know why though

Dark sharpies: especially navy blue ones. If you go into the back room and draw a little fly, it’s a lot of fun watching some co-workers swat at it. You can do this really with any pen, but I only had a sharpie on hand

My office manager: she is so sweet. She gets me and I get her.

Counting the insulin bottles in the fridge: don’t ask me why

The security guard: crazy old man that shouts at you if you have your key, even though you have to have your key to get in the building.

Mail: I love mail

Minis: they make my day pass by a lot faster.

Thursday

I love naturally, oddly shaped food. I found a picture of these crazy carrots and have named The Cowboy and The Siamese

Altered signs. I remember taking a few of these that just made me laugh. The “welcome to our farm” picture has the scariest drawn berry monster, and the “cliff” one reminds me of Fred Astaire in “put’n on the ritz”

SNOW! It’s snowing! Mind you, I don’t like the cold, but I love snow.

Humidifiers. I plan on getting one for my apartment because it is so damn dry and hot, and because of this I get sick all the time now. I used to think that it was a doctor’s paranoia when they told me to moisturize my skin heavily during the winter months because if not I get sick. I don’t mock them anymore. I’ve done my research, the drier the skin, the easier it is for germs and other pathogens to get into your system.

Making lists…I am such a geek

Editing my bosses’ work. I know that sounds stupid, but I don’t really mind it. It keeps my brain running and I ensures that I don’t forget everything I learned in school

Water. I have to start drinking more. Mainly because I woke up this morning with “dry” cuts on my hands, where you skin is so dry it become brittle.
Boots: I love boots

Plans for creating things. I want to start making things again and this weekend I intend on starting a new project. I have no idea what it is yet, but I’m sure I’ll come up with something soon

Stupid people, they annoy the hell out of me but amuse me too.

It's THURSDAY! And of course you know what that means: Things I love Thursday!

Crawling into bed after a shower: Because I am trying my best to exercise every day, I normally get up really early. But I have this lazy streak and right after my shower I generally shiver my way back to bed. It's even better when there's something in the bed to tempt you back into it.
Marie Antoinette style: Maybe it's the colors or the whole shebang about the rococo style, but I have a secret crush on the whole thing. Now I wouldn't wear some of the colors (like baby pink) but I appreciate the colors on other people dressing in the same style. I love the picture above because it's just soo....Je ne sais pas

Flower Farms: Yes some people will say that I'm ridiculous for liking these things (and my more environmental friends will scream murder), but I can't help it. I love flowers. Not because they're "girly", but because they have such bold statements and are works of art in of themselves. Also I don't think I need to mention Georgia O'keeffe in this list because my more conservative friends will probably cringe and cry murder just as much.

Balloons: Come on, who doesn't love balloons? They're a heck of a lot of fun. They can fill a room and make it seem like you're in some kind of air box. They give you crazy hair if you rub them on your head, and perfect opportunity to accidentally zap that annoying coworker of yours. Plus, they give you a really nice rack...just stay away from sharp objects.

Shoes: Yes I love shoes.

Bright bathing suits: Bright colors have always drawn my eye and I love the layout of the picture above.

Bratty kids: Yes they are annoying and a pain in the butt. However, you have to give it to them. They are the most amusing things to watch when you don't personally have to deal with them. I took this picture watching a mother go insane over her kid who was asking "why" all the time. Then suddenly the kid just looked at me and pointed. It made me laugh, despite the fact that I was slightly affronted. Damn brats.

Sparrows: The ones in the park outside of my office are pretty neat, and intelligent...for birds I suppose. They know exactly which type of people to hop around in the morning. For example you have the rushed secretary, who generally stops at the "Au Bon Pan" across the park, grabs a muffin and a coffee and tries to beat the light while shoving half her muffin in her mouth and downing her drink. She of course drops most of her muffins and the sparrows are right there to pick up the crumbs. I also see them as free city street cleaners. The are better animal citizens than those damn smuggy squirrels.

Punting: The sparrows thing above reminded me why I love punting smuggy squirrels. *Punt*
